More About Me

I’ve been in the SEO and digital marketing space for nearly 15 years now.

With a background in English literature, I initially cut my teeth in SEO during a long stint working in China in a previous life.

Since then, I’ve worked with brands across multiple verticals in both agency and in-house environments, before starting my own consultancy business in 2020.

Before going solo, I was EU Head of SEO at Samsung-owned digital agency Cheil and Head of SEO at freelancer marketplace PeoplePerHour. The former saw me spear heading and implementing localised international SEO infrastructure and strategy across Samsung’s 32 European markets. The latter encompassed driving growth through nuanced content strategies and complex technical SEO ventures.

My experience has taken me from day-to-day SEO execution to advising business owners, marketing directors, heads of digital, and C-suite stakeholders on long-term organic strategy. I have accumulated deep experience in technical SEO auditing, keyword research, content campaigns and everything in between.

While this may paint a picture of your typically well-rounded “good at technical and good at content” SEO consultant, recent experience has sent me deeper down the path of large ecommerce SEO, and international SEO. And there’s the China SEO thing too.

  • As Head of SEO, overseeing a re-brand and entire international SEO strategy of renowned international forex broker, managing agencies and team members globally to drive organic growth in China and South East Asian markets.
  • Long-form digital thought leadership content for major UK SEO agency, working directly with the CMO and internal marketing team.
  • Strategic consultancy across technical and content SEO for large brand owning various websites in the highly competitive gaming niche, ascertaining a 15% uplift in emerging markets.
  • Strategic technical SEO consultancy in leading audio forum site, resulting in 20% organic uplift in 6 month period.
  • Content and technical SEO strategy for leading UK car hire website, resulting in 15% organic uplift in a 6 month period.
  • Rebrand, site migration and content strategy for leading productivity app website, resulting in 20% uplift in organic following migration.
  • Content and technical SEO strategy for supply chain and cybersecurity company, seeing a 50% increase in organic leads year on year.
  • Working as joint Head of Content with a team of senior SEO consultants across a major global luxury hotel brand, resulting in ongoing year on year organic growth.
  • Working with a CMO to devise a long-term content strategy for a leading financial advice brand famed for its YouTube channel.

I’m also probably the only SEO consultant in the world who can claim to have featured in popular Channel 5 documentary show, the Hotel Inspector, where I was described by presenter Alex Polizzi as a “hotshot search engine consultant”. I had a direct role in assisting the online visibility and bookings of a UK bed and breakfast lodge’s website as part of an episode.

Outside of SEO

Outside of work, I do your typical travelling, running, cycling, reading and vinyl collecting activities, though other core passions include making music and writing.
